Application For On-Campus Dorm Swapping For Fall Semester 2024

Dear Students,

Please see the attached notice for details on the application for on-campus dorm swapping for the Fall semester of 2024. Please read it carefully and follow the relevant procedures.

【Transfer Between Buildings in the Same Dorm Area】

Applicant Eligibility: Students currently residing in on-campus dorms (excluding BOT Prince House residents)

Application Time: 10:00 AM, Aug. 26, 2024 (Mon.) to 5:00 PM, Dec. 27, 2024 (Fri.)(Late applications will not be accepted)

  1. Please find another student to exchange with you.
  2. Both parties must first apply online.
  3. Both parties must inform their current dorm director; both dorm directors will confirm your intent to exchange in the system.
  4. After both dorm directors have confirmed, both parties must bring their student IDs to the Student Housing Service Division to confirm the transfer and accommodation fee difference.
  5. After completing the above procedure, both parties must move to their new dorms and check in within seven days.

Important:

  1. A student may only transfer dorms once per semester with approval.
  2. Because students on the waiting list are still being allocated to dorms, students may not transfer to empty spaces in other dorms.
  3. Freshmen dorm (Men 1st Dorm and Freshman Women Dorm) residents may only exchange with other freshmen in higher-year dorms. They may not exchange with other higher-year students. 
  4. BOT Prince House residents may not transfer with on-campus dorm residents.

【Transfer Between Buildings in the Different Dorm Areas 】

Applicant Eligibility: Students currently residing in on-campus dorms (excluding BOT Prince House residents)

Application Time: From 10:00 AM on the second Monday of each month during the semester to 5:00 PM on Friday.

Application Process:

  1. Please apply for transfer between buildings in the different dorm areas at the provided website during the application period.
  2. All registered students will be paired for exchange based on their needs, and the results will be announced on the third Tuesday of each month at 2:00 PM.
  3. If no successful pairing is made, available beds released that month will be offered for dormitory changes, with a maximum of three beds for the graduate each in the Main Campus Dorms and Downtown Dorms and a maximum of five beds for the undergraduate each in the Main Campus Dorms and Downtown Dorms.
  4. Successfully paired students will receive an email notification about the accommodation fee difference and must coordinate their moving time with the other party.
  5. Within seven days of receiving the transfer notice from the Student Housing Service Division, both parties must move to their new dormitories and complete the check-in process.

Important:

  1. A student may only transfer dorms once per semester with approval.
  2. BOT Prince House residents may not transfer with on-campus dorm residents.
  3. Undergraduate students may apply for dormitory relocation in groups of one, two, three, or four. During the application, students must indicate whether they "agree to be separated" for allocation purposes. If the group cannot be successfully matched, those who agree to be separated will be reassigned individually, while those who do not agree will not be allocated.
